New York Jazz Club at Brasserie Julien
Brasserie Julien is an important, original and exciting part of New York City’s Jazz scene. It is very much like the Harlem or 52nd Street original clubs, where people would come to check out great live music but also enjoy refined food and drinks as well as talk and hang out with famous Jazz musicians. Also, Brasserie Julien has its own “New York Jazz Sound”. It is sophisticated just like the restaurant “decor” and atmosphere, but super-groovy and adventurous. More than in any other NYC music venues, Brasserie Julien’s music is performed for the people with the people and interaction is what matters. Since 1999, the Jazz Club/Restaurant only had memorable nights with “no-cover”.

Brasserie Julien is open to all genres of music. The musicians-in-residence bring special guests from all different backgrounds do get the “real thing” whatever the style is: Samba di Bahia, Parisian Gypsie Jazz-Musette, Harlem Gospel, Downtown progressive Jazz, Son Montuno from El Barrio, etcn those more then 10 years of “groovy nights” Brasserie has built a beautiful crowd of regulars and Jazz aficionados - among them, Jazz critic Tony Outhwaite who knows the dates and personal of all original recordings. Also, poet James “Heller” Levinson and his raw and passionate love for live performance. Numerous beautiful NYC Night Life people come to Brasserie Julien to relax, socialize and have fun - and usually in that chronological order. They’ll start with a glass of wine at the bar, then get into a conversation and start sing-along or dance with the band (Marie and Ron’s style).
