French Restaurant New York

Saint Germain Liqueur

I agree 100% with The New York Times about Saint Germain Liqueur.

Over 10 years now, Brasserie Julien has been welcoming different styles of new liqueurs, from new absinthe recipes and Jasmine Cognac infusion to passion-fruit sparkling liqueurs such as Nuvo. Some of them do not make any sense or are totally undrinkable. Others are just here to overflow the new-brand market like the many new vodkas, among them Elit from Stolichnaya. After working closely with those different new brands and tasting all the new recipes, I concluded there is only one product, in all these years that outran every other one, the Saint Germain Elderflower Liqueur, a simple recipe of a good and honest product and an introduction to a new aperitif liqueur, like those my parents and grandparents used to drink back in Paris. From its flavor, graphics, media, and packaging, everything has been well-thought-out and perfectly orchestrated by Saint Germain’s young and inventive team. I can already tell you that this liqueur will become a classic in 10 years on every bar and restaurant shelf in the world.

If I have awakened the curiosity of your palate, then I welcome you to visit us at Brasserie Julien and ask for a taste of Saint Germain Elderflower Liqueur.

Drink Well But Responsibly!!

New York summer terrace, where are you?

This year New York has been hit one of the harshest winters in some time. We’ve all been affected by the cold before, but for some reason, this winter feels like it just won’t quit. Stop teasing us, snow! Enough already, ice! And for the love of all that is down-filled and cozy, we just can’t do another walk even remotely CLOSE to the East River. Father Winter has reared it’s ugly head for the final time and we are so eager to hang up those heavy, inconvenient winter coats (we may have a celebratory burning for ours) and open up our summer terrace.

We openly challenge the bustling sounds of 3rd Avenue and raise it Sedric and his booming saxophone any day. This Year we will do our best to upgrade our Jazz duo to a permanent trio with Vocalist Janine Alondres. Janine is preparing to perform for the third time at Brasserie. Each time has become increasingly popular, and our restaurant is always full with eager fans and lovers of beautiful music. Janine’s voice truly fills the room and only adds to the ambiance of the resturant. Her beautiful voice paired with the clinking of glasses, the instrumental live music, smell of fresh mussels and sizzling steaks truly makes this winter bearable.

As summer approaches, we have made some exciting new changes to our already popular menu. We are now offering a plump lobster roll piled high with fresh lobster, avacado, tomato, grilled jalepeno and topped with a delictable house-made cilantro mayonnaise; the dish has already gone over widly. We are also now offering a variety of new items including a traditional French flat pizza called pissaladiere, braised veal breast, fresh tartines with toasted goat cheese and pear chutney, just to name a few. Hopefully the inflation won’t hit all the whole sales market prices too fast so we can continue to offer these items to our guests at an always reasonable price at Brasserie.

And if you’re asking yourself what a summer of jazz at Brasserie Julien entails, let us paint a better picture for you…

Around 5:00 in the afternoon marks the start of our early birds, twittering in from a long day at work eager to enjoy their favorite beer, perfectly chilled French Martini or glass of vin. Families arrive to take advantage of our “kids eat free” menu or to play a game of backgammon or chess as the early evenings are usually the calm before the ever enjoyable storm.

It’s only after around 7:00 in the evening that the younger crowd begins to file in; groups of beautiful and eager couples and singles alike – all anticipating the city at their disposal, beginning the night and setting the mood at Brasserie.

Then arrives the loyal patrons and 10-year long friends of the restaurant. Always entering with a smile on their face and greeted by the staff as close friends and confidants. It is for these people, young and old, new and well-known alike that makes us endlessly appreciative of the continued support and love here at Brasserie Julien.

Summer really can’t come soon enough. See you soon!
